“Miraculous Repentance” (Luke 5.1-11)

Luke’s telling of how Peter became a disciple begins with Jesus asking Peter for a favor. “Go out into the deep water and catch some fish.” Peter didn’t want to do what Jesus asked but he did it anyway. When the catch was so large it almost swamped the boat, Peter confessed that he was a sinner and told Jesus to go away. Was the miracle the big catch or Peter’s repentance?

Relief Efforts for Haiti Earthquake Crisis

The Presbyterian Church continues to respond to Haiti earthquake relief efforts through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) and its partners. One Great Hour of Sharing funds are already deployed and PDA has set a goal of at least an additional $1,000,000 for assistance from Presbyterian churches and members.

If you would like to contribute personally to ongoing relief efforts, there are two ways to do so: (1) make out a check to PCIS and mark it "Haiti Relief." Our treasurer will forward it promptly to PDA; or (2) give directly (and securely) through the "Presbyterian Disaster Assistance" website. Click HERE for a link to the Haiti Relief contribution page.
